good idea... but then how can you acquire the player when he has no intention of joining your club?meaning he wont accept your offer regardless of pay, probably saying ".....a step in the wrong direction....".

As the existing 2D match engine is unresponsive and arbitrary, having the same qualities in 3D would merely be a visual improvement.

Essentially, to win matches in CM you don't make 'realistic' decisions as a manager, you alter tactics to beat the AI. I have read articles giving hints on how to do this. For example, you are a goal ahead with only a minute or 2 to go. Realistically, a manager would tend to shut up shop, bring on an extra defender, time waste etc. The advice I have read is to go to all out attack to unsettle the AI and, indeed, to constantly switch tactics in the last period also has the effect of doing this, because AI adjustment takes a little time.

This is a basic weakness in the game from my perspective. No matter how comprehensive the databases, etc, the necessity for such unrealistic tactics spoils the gameplay in my view.

Good read.Found this on a google search trying to find which category of training heading came under as I'm trying to improve my scoring from dead-ball situations. I spend alot of time trying to put players in certain positions at corners which I feel suits their abilities.

if u want to make money then just create a new user as say barcelona , get them to buy the rubbishest player on your team for the most money they can get then youve got rid of a rubbish player and got loads of money! ;D

this is an easier way i think.

you bid for the player that you want e.g £0 and then create a new user as that team that the player is in then you accept the bid that your other team bidded for then he moves to your original team for free! easy!

Then you can retire as that team then youve got a really good player for nothing! :D

New to the series and my first thoughts on this topic is why does it have to be 3D? One of the most enduring Strategy games, Jagged Alliance 2' had a decent graphical representation with 2D graphics. It told the story very well.

Simple graphics with the rotating pitch idea and some clever animating would amp up the eye candy easily enough.
